Yara is the first hotel and first venture for the Sonora Group which is made up of husband and wife duos Moody and Katy Nashawaty and David and Amanda Fornelli with Amanda's brother, Oscar Bustos. The quintet started working together in Joshua Tree where they own a portfolio of short term rentals respectively. Inspired by Bali and the Mediterranean, the group set out to create Santorini in the Sonora desert with the help of stylist Yahaira Familia of The Styled Property.
